Next-Gen Analog Knobs with Touch Sense.
Timepod features 16 endless analog pots that deliver 1,024 steps per revolution — 8 times that of typical encoder-based controllers.
True 14-bit CC support.
Timepod delivers true 14-bit MIDI CC for ultra-high resolution control, unlike encoders with nominal 14-bit support that delivers subpar user experience.
Compare
Timepod’s analog pots
- 1-to-1 mapping of distance turned to value changed.
- Covers the full 14-bit range in one natural turn.
- Models the physical behavior of a real knob.
Encoders without acceleration
- 1-to-1 mapping of distance turned to value changed.
- Requires multiple rotations to cover the full 14-bit range.
- Impractical for most musical use cases.
Encoders with acceleration
- Value changed depends on speed of turn.
- Can cover the full 14-bit range in one turn depending on the speed of rotation.
- Results in pointer drift — inconsistent and misaligned pointer positions.
14-bit CC is a method of transmitting high-resolution MIDI control data, compatible with the MIDI 1.0 protocol. Most major DAWs support 14-bit CCs; check the FAQ section to confirm compatibility with your DAW.
The Feel of a Real Synth.
Custom-tuned torque, uniform resistance, and an ergonomic design that sweeps zero to max in a partial turn — just like a real synth knob.

“Timepod feels less like a MIDI controller, more like a spacecraft command console. The snapshot and morphing system in this compact form factor breathes life, fluidity and randomness into analog, hybrid, and software rigs alike. The daylight-bright LEDs are even visible in direct sunlight, my favorite place to play. No other controller does that.”

What our backers say
“I was one of the original Kickstarter backers and this thing is amazing. It’s built like a tank and the knobs are the closest thing the gear world has to a Hasselblad experience.”
“The 14 bit controls are a game changer in my studio. Filter sweeps executed with Timepod using a desktop VST are just as good as on using the knobs on most digital hardware synths.”
“I put [Timepod] back into my home studio rig, and now i can’t imagine life without this piece.”

FAQs.
Which DAWs support 14-bit CCs?
| DAW | Support | How it’s configured |
|---|---|---|
| Ableton Live | Yes — native | MIDI Map Mode supports 14-bit absolute controls. |
| Logic Pro | Yes — native | Controller Assignments → Expert View → Hi7/Lo7 Value Change field. |
| Cubase | Yes — native | MIDI Remote / controller mapping. |
| Bitwig Studio | Yes — controller script | Best configured through a dedicated controller script / extension. |
| FL Studio | No native support | Workaround is possible with a Fruity Formula Controller patch. |
Is there bi-directional communication for the LED rings?
Yes, Timepod offers bi-directional feedback. As you adjust parameters on your DAW, the changes will reflect on the controller as well, provided the DAW is configured to send MIDI sync events.
Are the knobs pushable?
Through extensive testing across many knob models, we found that push-switch mechanisms compromise the turning feel compared to non-push knobs. We chose non-push pots with added touch-sensitivity in order to preserve the premium feel of non-push knobs while retaining the functionality of push-switch controls.
Does Timepod support SysEx?
Yes — read our SysEx API documentation.
Can you adjust the brightness of the LEDs?
Yes, you can adjust the brightness of the LEDs via the desktop app or SysEx API.
Can you configure individual LED ring colors?
Yes, you can configure colors per ring via the desktop app or SysEx API.
